0180 - Maintenance and Support Director

Position Overview:
To support our growth and ensure a seamless customer experience, we seek a highly skilled Maintenance & Support Director with expertise in structuring maintenance programs, supporting contracts, and managing long-term operational readiness. Our Director will be pivotal in defining the maintenance and support programs accompanying our aircraft procurement agreements. This position will be responsible for establishing maintenance performance expectations between our OEM and customers, ensuring alignment between our commitments and the capabilities of our supply chain. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in advanced air mobility startups (e.g., Volocopter, Lilium) and established aircraft OEMs (e.g., Pilatus, Daher, Textron, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Program Development: Define aircraft maintenance support programs' structure, scope, and service levels.
- Customer Maintenance & Support Standards: Establish clear maintenance and operational performance metrics that us as the OEM must deliver to customers.
- Supplier Performance & Negotiations: Identify and negotiate necessary maintenance and support services with vendors to ensure our customer commitments can be met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that maintenance programs adhere to all aviation regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, legal, and supply chain teams to ensure maintenance contract feasibility and compliance.
- Customer Relationship Management: Serve as a key point of contact for customers regarding maintenance and support-related inquiries and negotiations.
- Market Benchmarking: Analyze existing maintenance frameworks in the established and advanced air mobility sector to ensure competitive positioning.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine and enhance maintenance and support services based on customer feedback and operational performance.
- Digital Services Definition: Define and implement digital services for maintenance, operations, and training to enhance aircraft lifecycle management and customer support.

- Industry Experience:
- 12+ years in aerospace maintenance, support, or contract management.
- Experience with an advanced air mobility startup (e.g., Volocopter, Lilium) and an established aircraft OEM (e.g., Embraer, Airbus, Boeing) preferred.
- Maintenance & Support Expertise:
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and vendor negotiations.
- Technical Acumen:
- Deep knowledge of aircraft maintenance, operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Customer-Focused Mindset:
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and expectations effectively.
- Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Additional Information:
- Travel: Occasional travel (<25%).
- Onsite Presence: Expected onsite presence at our Manassas, VA headquarters 4-5 days per week.
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of our business and projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs.
