Primary Purpose:
Electra is seeking an experienced CAD Administrator to lead the installation, set up, maintenance and administration of all CAD/PLM systems for the design and build of Electra’s 9-passenger eSTOL (electric short takeoff and landing) product. Along with the software administration duties, this individual must be an experienced structural design engineer able to own the design of large assemblies and system integration. Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain Siemens NX and Teamcenter software and ensure its optimal performance.
- Develop and implement advanced modeling techniques and best practices.
- Manages and delivers CAD/PLM training of users as required.
- Monitors all installs, updates, account creation and access.
- Oversee the creation of content such as built-in/custom libraries, templates, and proper usage of manufacturing software is adhered to.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support design and manufacturing processes
- Expert in structural design and system integration for aerospace applications.
- Develop and progress clean sheet structural designs throughout the conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, assembly/integration, flight test, and certification phases.
- Take ownership of an aircraft zone and show compliance for relevant 14 CFR Part 23, Part 25, and internal design/marketing requirements.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate structural interfaces with adjacent systems and structures.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Experience with CAD/PLM software packages including Teamcenter and NX
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Strong knowledge of fixed wing, metallic structural design and systems integration.
- Strong understanding of composite design, materials and manufacturing processes.
- A strong work ethic and ability to independently meet and lead the areas described in the responsibilities and essential functions.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt well to change.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical discipline; and
- 6+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
- Experience in aircraft level development programs
- Familiarity of FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements pertinent to structural design, analysis, and manufacturing.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of government development programs and contracting.
- US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred
- Licensed Pilot Preferred (FAA, EASA, PPL, CPL, etc.)
- Aviation Technical Certifications (A&P etc.)
- Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of the projects some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. May need to lift up to 50 lbs.
Travel: <25%, Domestic & International Travel

Salary: Electra’s salary range for this position is: $81,250.00 – 181,250.00
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.
