Position Overview:
Electra.aero, a next-gen aerospace technology company, seeks a dynamic and energetic Senior Certification Engineer. This role will support certification activities related to the EL9 aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with internal company functions and the FAA on type certification of new aircraft within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
The Big Picture:
- Alignment: This role will support the Electra Certification Team orchestrate the operating rhythm for the company, looking for ways to ensure the Certification Team is aligned with Electra’s mission and purpose, etc.
- Discipline: This role will help ensure the Certification Team maintains an established operating rhythm with consistency and discipline, driving culture by virtue of adherence to core commitments on how we work and communicate with one another for the EL9 project.
- Continuous Improvement: This role will support and look for ways to ensure appropriate coordination of various certification activities with internal Electra functions, external Team members such as Designees, and the FAA.
- Force Multiplier: This role will be a critical force multiplier for the EL9 Team by helping with a coordinated and understood certification approach.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Coordinate with internal functions required deliverables for type certification.
- Coordinate compliance activities and questions as needed with external DER’s and FAA.
- Help develop strategies for type certification.
- Participate in reviews with the FAA.
- Status actions and activities for the project with internal functions and the FAA.
- Research required operational and foreign certification requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Field (preferably Engineering)
- At least 5 years experience in an Engineering environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of aerospace engineering practices.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work with normal office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc., but also ability to adapt to new tools.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of FAA regulatory requirements for type certification.
- Experience in commercial engineering environment.

Salary:
Electra's salary range for this position is: $82,110.00- $192,780.00
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of our business and projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs.
